At Rush Green Primary School, we follow the Barking and Dagenham Agreed Syllabus (Learning for Life) to support the teaching and learning of Religious Education (RE).\u00a0 We understand that national legislation requires that RE is part of the school curriculum for all registered pupils.\u00a0 RE is included in our curriculum for all our pupils including pupils within our Nursery and Reception classes.<\/p>

We strongly believe that all our pupils should have access to a broad, balanced and coherently planned curriculum which builds upon pupils prior learning so that they acquire a deep understanding of different religions and worldviews.\u00a0 Our RE curriculum is accessible for all and prepares children for future life-long learning and employability. \u00a0\u00a0It teaches the children about the world around them and celebrates the diversity in the school and local community.\u00a0 We teach the children to be respectful of others and create a sense of belonging. This in turn enables pupils to be better equipped to cope with the responsibilities of experiences of adult life.<\/p>

Our Scheme of Work for RE focuses on the main world religions: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism and Sikhism but also considers other religions and world views.\u00a0 It is designed to offer a structured and safe place during curriculum time for reflection, discussion, dialogue and debate.\u00a0 It also provokes challenging questions about meaning and purpose in life, beliefs about God and issues of rights and responsibilities.\u00a0 In Re lessons our children learn about and from different religions and worldviews in local, national, and global contexts, to discover, explore and consider different answers to these questions.\u00a0\u00a0 Our pupils learn to articulate clearly and coherently their personal beliefs, ideas, values and experiences whilst respecting the rights of others to differ.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
